Description
17" (43 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with lightly pink-tinted complexion, plump face, painted blue down-glancing eyes, thick upper eyeliner, very delicately-painted all-around lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, accented eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden fully-articulated body with swivel waist, articulation at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Huret stamp on kid collarette). Comments: Adelaide Huret, circa 1860. Value Points: an especially beautiful example of the early poupee, wearing original sheer muslin gown with stamped Huret on the inside waist band, and having embroidered flocking on the bodice and skirt pleats, lace-edged bretelles and sleeves, undergarments, red knit stockings, and black ankle boots with soft kidskin soles, stamped Huret Paris.
