Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, smiling expression, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips, knees and elbows, stitched and separated fingers, lovely silk costume, undergarments, blue kidskin shoes and carrying bone-handled blue silk parasol. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E (head and shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1873, the smiling face model was deposed by Bru in 1873. Value Points: very desirable model with distinctive smiling expression, choice bisque and painting.
