Description
5 1/2" (14 cm.) Having leather-like-over- wooden framed base with tan leather straps decorated with brass studs and hinge that allows the base to be opened separately from the woven striped tapestry top which has brass clasp and bail handles. Excellent condition, no key. French, known as sac du voyage in France, or carpet bag in America, the traveling valise was a classic style of the 1860 era.
