Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with plump face, blue glass inset eyes with darker blue iris rims and spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French poupee body with gusset jointing, early cotton day dress, cap, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent, body darkened, repair at right wrist. Marks: Aux Reves d'Enfance ro Rue de Richeleur Paris (body stamp). Comments: Paris, circa 1860, the poupee was presented at the luxury Parisian doll shop of Aux Reves de L'Enfance. Value Points: very lovely face with hint of smile, the doll is presented in early trunk with trunk maker's label "Carret, La Malle Lyonnais" along with an extensive array of undergarments and additional costumes, with marble top stand, wooden hat box and more.
