6 1/2" (17 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged shapely bisque torso, brown glass inset eyes, painted curly lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with impressed dimples at lip corners, plump cheeks, blonde mohair wig, peg-jointed bisque arms modeled bent at the elbows with cupped hands, jointing at hips and knees in manner allowing the doll to kneel, painted white stockings with scalloped rims, purple heeled boots with black lacing. Condition: generally excellent, retouch of upper left arm. Marks: 1. Comments: Kestner, circa 1880. Value Points: the rarity of the jointed knee child is enhanced by fine modeling details of face and hands, fancily painted boots in rare color.
