Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, small blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips, knees and elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Aux Reves de L'Enfance 40 Rue de Richelieu Paris (original paper label on torso). Comments: French, circa 1870, the dainty poupee was presented at the luxury Parisian doll shop Aux Reves de L'Enfance. Value Points: pristine condition of the rare small poupee with original wig, body, and wearing lovely sheer organdy white gown with woven dots, and with lace-edged center panel, lace ruffles at neckline, cuffs and hem, undergarments, leather ankle boots.
