Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, pale blue spiral threaded eyes with darker blue outer rims, mauve blushed eye shadow, dark eyeliner, arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid gusset jointed poupee body. Condition: generally excellent, right wrist reinforced. Marks: 2 (head) Au Nain Bleu (stamp on torso). Comments: circa 1875, the poupee was presented at the prestige Parisian doll shop Au Nain Bleu. Value Points: beautiful face and painting of features, very sturdy and clean original body, boutique label, and wearing lovely antique brown silk/linen gown, jewelry, undergarments, cream kidskin heeled ankle boots.
