Description
18" (46 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with modeled hair overlaid by brown flocked hair, tiny blue glass squinting eyes, painted brown lashes and angled brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth modeled as though open in wide crying expression with detailed tongue, shaded lips, row of beaded teeth above, and two beaded teeth below, French composition and wooden ball-jointed body, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 233 Paris 6 (head) Fabrication Francaise SFBJ Paris (body). Comments: SFBJ, circa 1915, from their character series. Value Points: one of the rarer models from the firm's art character series, with excellent detail of modeling.
