Description
15" (38 cm.) Seated upon a paper mache base designed to appear as tree stump is a bisque head doll with large brown glass paperweight eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, with bisque shoulderplate, carton torso, wire upper arms and legs, bisque forearms. When wound, the little girl turns her head side to side and alternately lifts the fan in her right hand and the carnival mask in her left hand, while two musical tunes play. Condition: generally excellent, music and mechanism function well. Comments: Vichy, circa 1880. Value Points: especially beautiful face, original costume, original paper music tune on underside listing two tunes.
