Description
11" (28 cm.) Padded cotton crepe over copper wire armature, press-shaped painted facial features with rich complexion, blue eyes with defined eyeliner, thick painted brows, dark brown silk thread curled hair, closed mouth, separately-modeled fingers. Condition: excellent. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (cloth tag inside costume). Comments: portrayed is Robert Dudley, long time companion of Queen Elizabeth I by artist Dorothy Heizer, circa 1950. Value Points: very rare model, he is wearing original cream silk tunic with embroidered details, and ruffled collar, brown velvet cape and throat band with jewel-trimmed gilt belting, knee belt, cream leggings and cream silk slippers, carrying gilt handled sword.
