Description
15" (38 cm.) Solid domed bisque shoulderhead with light brown sculpted boyish hair, intaglio dark blue side-glancing eyes, black upper eyeliner, short feathered brows, closed mouth with modeled open hole in whistling manner, original muslin body, jointed arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 5 8774 Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1912, the facial model of the firm's doll marketed as "Whistling Jim". Value Points: rare variation of the well-modeled doll is wearing original blue flannel woolen English bobby uniform including helmet and whistle.
