Description
16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with flat-dimensional face, rounded black shoe-button eyes on painted eye whites, short angled brows, six lashes under each eye, black-outlined red nose, thin line mouth with gentle smile, brown worsted wool hair, stitch-jointed body with heart in torso, red and white striped sewn-on stockings with black sewn-on shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Patented Sept 7, 1915. Comments: Raggedy Ann by Volland, early 1920s model, from designs by Johnny Gruelle. Value Points: well-preserved condition of the early model, wearing her original paisley print dress in shades of brown, cream, purple and green, with white pinafore and bloomers.
