Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head with very full rounded face, on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, softly shaded eyelids, arched brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French wooden poupee body with dowel articulation at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, kid collarette. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Huret stamp on kid collarette). Comments: bisque head and shoulderplate by Adelaide Huret, circa 1862, the poupee body is of the 1867 era. Value Points: lovely doll with unusually large eyes, in early tussah silk gown with red fabric banding edged in white beading, cap, undergarments, and tan leather ankle boots with elastic side inset panels, and with soft leather soles stamped "Huret a Paris".
