Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head, narrow blue glass sleep eyes in deeply-defined eye sockets, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, open mouth in slight smile, two porcelain upper teeth, brunette mohair bobbed wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D (large raised letter). Comments: Sonneberg, maker unknown, circa 1885. Value Points: rare doll with wonderful modeling especially around the eyes and deeply impressed cheek and chin dimples, antique textured black velvet boy's suit and cap.
