Padded fine cotton crepe over copper wire armature, press-shaped painted facial features on slender-shaped face, solemn expression, small blue eyes with heavily-defined eyelids, aquiline nose, closed mouth with beautifully-shaped lips, very dark center-parted silk thread hair under bead-edged coiffe, hands resting on hips. Condition: excellent. Comments: depicted is Anne Boleyn, second wife of King Henry VIII, by the NIADA artist, Dorothy Heizer, circa 1950. Value Points: most expressive distinctive face and pose, wearing purple velvet gown with very full sleeves, ivory brocade skirt panel and sleeves, undergarments, elaborate beading of gown sash and coiffe, tassel edging, jewelry.
