Description
16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with flat-dimensional face, brown wool worsted hair, painted eye-whites behind flat shoe-button eyes, tiny one-stroke angled brows, six painted lashes under each eye, outlined diamond-shaped nose, slight smiling line, rosy cheeks, stitch-jointed muslin body with heart inside chest, red and white striped sewn-on stockings, black sewn-on cotton shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Patented Sept 7, 1915 (stamp). Comments: Raggedy Ann from drawings by Johnny Gruelle, by Volland, circa 1918. Value Points: wonderful condition and most endearing expression on the early beloved doll, wearing her original faded blue cotton dress with floral print, apron, bloomers.
