Padded cotton crepe fabric over copper-wire armature, press-shaped painted facial features on slender-shaped face, solemn expression, small blue eyes with defined eyeliner, aquiline nose, closed mouth, hands expressively posed in front of body with intertwined fingers. Condition: excellent. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (cloth label inside costume). Comments: depicted is Jane Seymour, the third wife of King Henry VIII, by the NIADA artist, Dorothy Heizer, circa 1950. Value Points: serene expression framed by distinctive coiffure of velvet, brocade and braided rattan, wearing brocade silk gown with extended train, peach velvet center panel and sleeves, faux-fur wrap, undergarments, embroidered silk slippers, decorated with elaborate beading and jewelry.
