Padded cotton crepe fabric over copper-wire armature, press-shaped painted facial features, downcast heavily-lidded small dark eyes with defined eyeliner, closed mouth, hands gently held together with individual fingers. Condition: excellent. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (cloth label inside costume). Comments: depicted is Anne of Cleves, the fourth wife of King Henry VIII, by the NIADA artist, Dorothy Heizer, circa 1950. Value Points: gentle expression and demeanor, with beautifully-wrapped turban-like coiffe, and wearing original burgundy velvet gown with beaded silk ribbon banding, intricate beading, jewelry, unique pose of hands and rings.
