9" (23 cm.) Padded cotton crepe over copper wire armature, press-shaped painted facial features with rich complexion, blue eyes with defined eyeliner, thick painted brows, brown silk thread curled hair and applied trimmed beard and moustache, closed mouth, separately-modeled fingers. Condition: excellent. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (cloth tag inside costume). Comments: portrayed is Walter Devereux, the lst Earl of Essex, wearing original black velvet tunic with gold embroidery, gold sleeves and pants, gold leggings, slippers, black velvet cap, and with thick gilt chain necklace and belt, and carrying gilt handled sword.
