Description
10" (25 cm.) Of padded fine cotton crepe over copper-wire armature and sculpted facial model, painted blue eyes, well defined cheek bones, white mohair wig, individually sculpted fingers. Condition: excellent. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (cloth sewn-in label). Comments: American artist, Dorothy Heizer, portrait doll of Richard II, created in 1955 for Mr. and Mrs. Wells on special commission. An accompanying hand written letter describes the doll costume and includes a bill for $85. Value Points: perfectly-preserved, wearing ermine cape on long red velvet robe over brocade under robe, beaded jewels at the neck, and with crown, orb and sceptre.
