Of padded cotton crepe fabric over copper-wire armature with well-defined details of face and fingers, painted facial features, blue eyes, closed mouth, brunette silk thread hair, individually sculpted fingers. Condition: excellent. Marks: Dorothy Wendell Heizer (original sewn-in label). Comments: American artist, Dorothy Heizer, circa 1950, inspired by a portrait of Catherine as Grand Duchess in 1748 at the age of 19. Value Points: the apt portraiture doll is wearing original richly draped silk brocade gown with lace edging, silk banner with ruby clusters, and with garland of beaded ornaments in her hair.
