Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with sculpted hair portraying very cheerful lad with crooked smile, sculpted tuft of hair at top of head, prominent ears, intaglio side-glancing eyes, black and incised upper eyeliner, one-stroke brows, rounded nose, closed mouth modeled as though open in laughing expression, shaded lips and tongue, four tiny beaded teeth on top and two on bottom, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4 Heubach (square) 8191 Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1912. Value Points: rare model with most appealing characterization enhanced by deep sculpting of dimples and laughter creases, choicest bisque and painting.
