10" (25 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed mask face, painted facial features, large "O"-shaped dark side-glancing eyes, tiny "O"-shaped mouth, brown mohair wig in long curls, padded stockinette body able to be posed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Little Shaver Madame Alexander (tag on costume). Comments: Madame Alexander, 1940, the doll was inspired by the designs of Elsie Shaver. Value Points: wearing rare variation original dress with grey taffeta bodice and coral sheer skirt trimmed with grey velvet ribbons, grey taffeta reticule with flowers, lace fingerless gloves, petticoat, panties, black velvet shoes, and elaborate head-dress of cascading variegated flowers.
