12" (30 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, elegant angular shape of face, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, dark eyeliner, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with gentle smiling expression, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, square cut collarette distinctive to Bru, bisque hands with elegantly-shaped fingers, antique burgundy costume. Condition: generally excellent, restoration to two fingers on left hand. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, his deposed model believed to be a portrait of Empress Eugenie. Value Points: desirable model in rare petite size, original body, beautiful complexion and blush.
