Description
20" (51 cm.) Paper mache socket head, deeply set blue glass eyes in narrow sockets, painted upper lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils on pointy-tip nose, closed mouth with center accent line, sculpted ears, blonde lambswool wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, maker unknown, in the style of the Munich Art Dolls of 1910; a nearly identical doll appeared in the auction "More Dolls from the Rosalie Whyel Collection", #5. Value Points: very rare doll with most distinctive expression.
