Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, narrow blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with enigmatic gentle smile, shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French poupee body with firmly-stuffed serge torso and legs with square-cut collarette, kid arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose (forehead) E (head). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872. Value Points: the deposed smiling model has original wig, pate, body, and is wearing a very fine early gown with lace and braid trim.
