Description
11" (28 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, blue glass spiral threaded eyes, dark eyeliner, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde fleecy wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, nicely costumed. Marks: 4. Excellent condition, original early body, some revarnish on body. Sonneberg, maker unknown, circa 1880, the doll was created to compete with the flourishing French bebe market.
