11" (28 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with blonde sculpted hair arranged with ringlet curls at each side of the forehead, waved behind her pierced ears, and forming into thickly-braided coronet at her crown, painted blue eyes, red and black eyeliner, single stroke brows, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, on original firmly-padded body whose skirt forms into a pincushion, bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1865. Value Points: attached to the original silk costume is an ink script note "Doll Pincushion, made for one of the Fairs for the Sanitary Commission during the Civil War".
