Description
12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, lushly painted lashes, widely brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, mohair wig over cork pate, pierced ears, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: M 2 (large incised markings). Comments: Emile Jumeau, unusual model, likely a special commission, bears strong resemblance to the models B.F. and B.L. by Jumeau made on special order for Paris department store. Value Points: the rare little bebe is enhanced by compelling decoration on the fine creamy bisque, original body and body finish, antique muslin chemise.
