Description
A heavy card stock box with slanted "roof" lid is designed to appear as a French schoolhouse, lettered on the front "Maison d'Ecole", with separate entrances for girls and boys. When the roof is lifted and front folded down, a schoolroom is revealed with various maps, charts and images on the walls, and having four school desks with journals, and a matching teacher's desk, globe on pedestal, journals, dunce cap, and four paper mache children and one teacher. Excellent condition. French, circa 1890, a fragment of the original Paris store label of Galeries Lafayette is on the underside. NOTE: ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD AS IS. The lots have been viewed for visible damages and is so noted when possible to aid in your bidding, but the bidder is reminded that any condition notes in the description do not override the general caveat emptor that all items are sold as is. Please call 410-224-3655 or email info@theriaults if you have specific inquiries about this lot.
