Each has carved wooden head with defined and tinted facial features, cloth body, wooden hands, she with carved and painted black hair smoothly waved into a coiled chignon at the back of head that is decorated with a carved coral hair piece; he with side-parted short black hair with feathered details. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission, circa 1920, representing "modern" wedding couple. Value Points: perfectly-preserved wearing original costumes, she with red silk kimono, coral underblouse, red skirt with unusual ruching at the sides, tassel trim, and beaded no-veil tasseled headdress; and he wearing royal purple tunic with center medallion at front and back, aqua tunic, purple silk leggings, boots, and black silk cap.
