8" (20 cm.) Each with tosca or brunette hair in original coiffure, straight leg walking body. Each has original cotton petticoat and pantalets, socks and black side-snap shoes, and original tagged costume, as follows: Meg in blue cotton gown with tiny floral print, lace collar, rose sateen apron; Jo in bright coral cotton gown with white piping and rick-rack and black velvet bows; Beth in crisp emerald green taffeta dress with white organza blouse trimmed with magenta bows; Amy in polka dot coral cotton dress with organza yoke, lace trim and black velvet sash; and Marme in pink cotton sateen with leaf design, black taffeta apron and matching collar with brooch. Near mint condition. Alexander, model 587, 1954, the very rare first presentation of Alexander-Kins as Little Women, this set entirely original and preserved impeccably, each having original pink and blue Alexander-Kins booklet, and all in matching labeled boxes with store label from The Higbee Co. and original price tag of $5.95. To find a complete intact set of the rare first issue models of the beloved storybook characters is very rare; to find such a set in this pristine condition is virtually impossible.
