Description
21" (54 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, fringed lashes, one-stroke tapered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pouting lips that are accented by decorative glaze, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, wearing boy's antique velvet suit and cap. Condition: generally excellent, original body finish. Marks: K*R 114 54. (head) Heinrich Handwerck (body). Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, the glass-eyed model of Hans from their art reform character series, circa 1912. Value Points: the rarer glass-eyed variation of the wonderfully-sculpted pensive child has superlative sculpting enhanced by larger size, finest quality of bisque.
