17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on bisque shoulderplate, unique neck articulation allowing the head to tilt side-to-side and forward as well as swivel, brilliant cobalt blue enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, delicately-arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with very full outlined lips, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, shapely kid torso with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comment: French, circa 1867, the unique Dehors articulated poupee was presented at the 1867 International Paris Exposition. Value Points: finest quality of pale bisque contrasts the brilliant cobalt eyes, wearing exquisite white summer dress with fine detail of trapunto embroidery.
