20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump cheeks, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, rose-blushed eye shadow, rounded nose with shaded nostrils, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with tiny stuck-out tongue between the shaded and outlined lips, dimpled chin and philtrum, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with classic pewter hands. Condition: generally excellent, body is appropriate and of the period albeit of another maker. Marks: F.8.G. (block letters). Comments: Gaultier, circa 1880, body by Petit et Dumoutier. Value Points: beautiful bright-eyed bebe with deeply-defined facial features and fine quality of bisque, lovely antique costume comprising pinafore dress over blouse, undergarments, lace-edged bonnet, stockings, leather shoes.
