Description
35" (89 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass eyes, painted eyeliner, dark painted curly lashes, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, open mouth, outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, French fully-jointed composition lady body shaped to accommodate Edwardian era fashions, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, original body with original finish excepting light retouch to hands. Marks: S&H Dep 1159 13 (head) E./D.B. Paris (body). Comments: Edmund Daspres, successor to the Steiner firm in the early 1900s, presented his Edwardian lady with exaggerated bosom and tiny waist; the doll was made with various commissioned bisque heads including this. Value Points: very rare to find original Daspres doll, this grand exhibition size model may be the only known to exist.
