13" (33 cm.) Solid domed carved wooden head with dowel-jointing which allows the head to tilt forward or swivel, brown enamel inset eyes, very expressive carving of features with defined opening of lips and carved teeth, rounded nose tip and chin, impressed dimples at cheeks and chin, well-defined ears, brunette human hair, all-wooden body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, expressively shaped fingers, shapely lower legs and defined toes. Condition: very good, original finish, chipped finger tips, restored toes. Comments: Continental, 18th century. Value Points: notable expression achieved by deeply-defined features, original painted finish. Included with the doll is its original costume comprising transfer-patterned homespun pants and jacket, cotton shift and little cap with elaborate trapunto embroidery.
