19" (48 cm.) h. 9"w. Of dark beechwood, the throne style chair has outstanding carving with elaborate turnings and incised detail, and with original cane back and seat. A pair of similar chairs appear in the V&A Museum display of the Lord and Lady Clapham dolls. This particular chair is preserved in outstanding condition with superb original finish excepting two holes in the original caning. England, 1690-1700, few examples are known to exist of this remarkable chair.
