13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, pale bisque, large cobalt blue inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, upturned lip corners in piquant smile, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, some patches on kid body. Marks: Maison Alice Couturier Paris 8 rue du Dauphin (paper label on body). Comments: circa 1870, the doll was presented at the prestige doll shop, Aux Enfants de France, operated by Alice Couturier. Value Points: beguiling smiling expression and dramatic large eyes, the doll has original boutique label and is wearing original gown, undergarments, leather shoes, jewelry, watch and fob, and very fine bonnet.
