Each room is featured in detail with information about its contents, its artists, and its purpose, and the background, purpose and architecture of the house is discussed in the opening chapters. Volume I, edited by A.C. Benson and Sir Lawrence Weaver, has 249 page and 92 plates of which 24 are in color; and Volume II, edited by E.V.
