11" (28 cm.) One-piece carved head and torso with slender elongated throat, angular oval face, shapely bosom, rounded back of head and sculpted ears, inset black enamel eyes in large almond shape, black eyeliner, dot accented lashes, feathered one-line brow, accented nostrils, closed mouth with firmly-set lips, blushed cheeks, original brunette wig with attached curlicue loops, cloth upper arms, wooden lower arms, spatula hands, wooden legs with dowel jointing at hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: English, mid-1800s. Value Points: very rare diminutive size with wonderful facial expression, outstanding original coiffure and costume with richly embroidered gown and embroidered cap, and with additional silk gown, all preserved in early domed carton trunk with transfer paper covering.
