Description
3 1/2" (9 cm.) h. The firm-sided oval-shaped leather hat box with slant sides is in the shape of a gentleman's hat and has dark brown leather borders and a brass name plate on the handle, with leather strap closure. The hat box opens to a purple velvet interior with purple velvet pincushion on the inside lid, and contains a number of miniature sewing tools and accessories including scissors, thimble, spools of thread, and various bone-handled tools. Generally excellent. French, circa 1875, rare accessory in miniature size for display with poupees.
