Posed in dance performance with intertwined arms, the waist-up figures are gazing at each other longingly, he with black sculpted hair, and she with brown sculpted hair and blue decorated headband, earrings, bracelets, and gold painted halter, attached to a voluminous powder puff and resting upon a powder bowl with double pair of porcelain legs, painted blue dance shoes and pink ballerina shoes with ankle straps. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1911, Dressel & Kister, the pair were inspired by the "look" of then-popular film stars Rudolph Valentino and Theda Bara which they closely resembled, including the gilt harness closely associated with Bara.
