Carved wooden socket head, painted black hair with cut-back hair at forehead, then combed into a chignon at the back held by gold combs, incised carving at the forehead and sunken eye hollows, tinted facial features, all cloth body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission, from the original 1910 group, described as depicting an aged woman. Value Points: very fine detail of carving, the woman wears original emerald green silk short tunic with black velvet edging over white underblouse, black silk skirt with side ruching, black velvet striped pants, blue silk slippers with embroidered trim, and black velvet head wrap.
