Description
3" (8 cm.) h. 4"l. The firm-sided papeterie with blue leatherette cover having gilt lettering "Papeterie" on the slant lid, hinges open to form a writing surface and has shelved interior containing bone-handled pen, letter opener, pencil, and a bounty of envelopes wrapped with original labeled bands. On the back of the papeterie is a label from the boutique "Enveloppes-Maquet", identified as the "premiere et ancienne manufacture" located at 76 rue Blanche, Paris. Excellent condition. French, circa 1875.
