Bisque socket head, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded lips, separately modeled pierced ears, brunette human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish except hands lightly retouched. Marks: 14 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1882, his model designed by Carrier-Belleuse, the renown Parisian sculptor, the doll is considered his pivotal bebe model. Value Points: very beautiful bebe with splendid eyes, original early plump body.
