11" (28 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head, pale blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading and large black pupils, painted dark curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined pale lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, early French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, wearing antique white cotton dress with matching ruffled bonnet that may be original, undergarments, black leather shoes signed M.G., stockings. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 3 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878. Value Points: superb example of premiere Jumeau bebe with large luminous eyes, appealing shy expression, fine quality of bisque, original body and body finish.
