21" (53 cm.) All composition with socket head, brown sleep eyes, grey eyeliner, grey eyeshadow, real lashes, thick brushstroked brows, closed mouth with bright red lips, blushed cheeks, brunette mohair wig trimmed with an elaborate corsage of blue and white flowers, slender torso and jointed limbs. She is wearing rose taffeta faille gown trimmed with bleuettes including wrist corsage, pearl necklace and bracelet, with capelet sleeves of four-tiered pleats, inset bosom shape, zipper back, elegantly-draped skirt with elaborately-pleated flounces, pink cotton slip and panties, thigh-high stockings, coral ballet slippers. The dress is tagged "Madame Alexander New York". Near mint condition, few light lines on face, rose color of gown oxidized from original blue. Madame Alexander, from the 1946 series of portrait dolls, featured in an advertisement of that year, titled Judy, presumably depicting Judy Garland in her 1944 film "Meet Me in St. Louis", the extremely rare doll has original clover leaf wrist tag, hand-painted features and outstanding detail of coiffure and costume.
