24" (61 cm.) Poured wax shoulderhead with plump facial modeling, cobalt blue glass eyes, brown eyeliner, tinted brows, closed mouth, separately-inserted hair, muslin stitch-jointed body, poured wax lower arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent, some fading of lip color. Comments: English, circa 1875, in the Montanari manner. Value Points: lovely gentle expression, wearing original cream cashmere cape with overlaid collar, wide red velvet bands, matching bonnet with red velvet brim and elaborate ruffles.
