Description
9" (23 cm.) Seated upon a wheeled tin platform is a bisque-headed jester with blonde sculpted hair, painted blue eyes, closed mouth, wooden torso and lower arms and legs, painted boots, and wearing original blue and red jester costume and cap. The doll is posed behind a brass gong and he holds two metal hammers which, when the toy is pulled along causing his arms to move up and down, ring the gong in a merry way. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1880.
